Indoor Picnic Chicken Wings

By Diana

I saw this recipe on TV the other day and I decided to try it yesterday at home for dinner and surprise the husband with something different. The original recipe says it should be cooked outdoors in the BBQ, but for those of us that live crowded in the top of a house in London and can only dream of a garden… then the oven is a perfect choice. This is a slightly different version of the BBQ chicken wings from the BBC website. Absolutely fun and delicious!

Ingredients

800 gr. chicken wings washed and cut in three pieces, discarding the thinnest part.
2 tbsp ketchup
2tbsp honey
1 garlic clove, crushed
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp orange marmalade
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tbsp Mirin or sesame oil
1 tbsp vinegar
Salt flakes and pepper

Preparation Method

1. In a bowl mix together all the ingredients and then add the chicken. You can leave them to marinate overnight, but don´t worry if you don’t have the time, it is equally tasty.
2. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/Gas 6. Place the marinated chicken on a baking tray arranged with greaseproof paper. The chicken wings should be linen down separately, non on top of each other. Add all the mixture left to the wings. Bake for 30 minutes or until the chicken is gold and cooked.
3. Enjoy!
